Shillong, May 24: The District Child Protection Officer, Ri Bhoi District, Nongpoh has informed that a baby boy of 21 days old was abandoned by his mother in the house of Shri. Ranjit Pandit and Smti. Sundari Devi, resident of 13th mile, Tamulkuchi (Byrnihat), Ri Bhoi District.
The couple has handed over the baby, who is now 9 months old to the Child Welfare Committee, Ri Bhoi District, Nongpoh and he is under the care and protection of “Lawei Baphyrnai’, a specialized adoption agency, Laitumkhrah, Shillong.
Any person having information of any sort regarding the baby may kindly contact the District Child Protection Officer, Ri Bhoi District, Nongpoh at Phone No.03638232087, ‘Lawei Baphyrnai’ – 9612168593 and the Chairperson, Child Welfare Committee, Ri Bhoi District – 9863017995 within 60 days, failing which the child will be declared legally free for adoption.
