Shillong, October 31: A one day training programme on the use and operation of EVMs with VVPATs was held today in the office of the Deputy Commissioner, West Khasi Hills District Nongstoin.
Mr P. D. Sangma, ADC who is also a master trainer gave a detailed explanation on various parts and functions of the machines to be used during the election. He also informed that nine VVPATs machines was allotted for the District to create an awareness among the general public in Polling Station of 30-Mairang (ST), 31-Mawthadraishan (ST), 32-Nongstoin (ST), 33-Rambrai Jyrngam (ST) and 34-Mawshynrut (ST) Assembly Constituency. The training ended with the practical test of the machines.
The Election Branch, West Khasi Hills District has also conducted training for Booth Level Officers (BLOs) on Special Summary Revision of Electoral Roll for filing of claims and objections from 31-10-2017 to 30-11-2017 at Trysem Hall, DC’s office, Nongstoin on 31st October, 2017.
