Shillong, August 22: A patient with breast tumour was admitted in July 2020 in General Surgery ward NEIGRIHMS for operation after tested negative for COVID-19. She was scheduled for operation next week but the repeat test for COVID-19 was positive, though she has no respiratory symptoms.
There were 19 high risk contacts of this patient who are now under quarantine. Due to this event the services in the Department of General Surgery, NEIGRIHMS, will be closed till further notice. Other services of the hospital will continue.
