A women from Meghalaya founded in Delhi Identity was established from her Aadhaar card

Shillong, March 28: A 23-year-old woman from Meghalaya was found allegedly murdered in her flat in Delhi’s Munirka on Tuesday morning, the police said.The woman’s identity was established with the help of her Aadhaar card details, the police added.

At around 9 a.m. , the police received a PCR call stating that a woman
was lying dead inside a flat in Munirka, the police said.A team reached the spot and found the flat to be locked from outside.

On breaking open the door, they saw a highly decomposed and disfigured
body of a woman lying inside the flat. A blanket was kept next to the body, the police added.

The victim’s landlord who lives in the same building went to her flat following a foul smell but found it to be locked from outside. He then peeped through the flat’s ventilator and saw the woman lying dead inside. Following this, he called up the police.

“A month back, the woman had joined a call centre in Gurugram and was staying in a rented flat in Munirka. Her family members have been informed about the incident. They will soon come to the city. The body has been sent for post-mortem,” said Milind Dumbere, Deputy Commissioner of Police (South-West).

The victim’s landlord told the police that he had seen her last on Friday evening. The police said that they are waiting for the post-mortem report to get more details on the same. Also, it will confirm if there has been any sexual assault. The items
in her flat were found intact, the police added.

“The body appears to be around five days old. We are going through her call records and CCTV footage of the area. ,” said a police officer.A murder case has been registered at Vasant Vihar police station, the police added.
