Shillong, July 19: After two hours talk with the NGO’s the Chief Minister Dr Mukul Sangma come out with the statement that the government has taken the decision that construction of the railway line will keep in abeyance, till comprehensive mechanism is in place to check entry and exit of people coming to the state.
The Chief Minister Dr Mukul Sangma speaking to media person after the meeting with the NGO’s said that the government has speed up the process of setting up of the entry and exit point for the phase I. If few of them started functioning this should be term that the comprehensive mechanism is in place.
Setting up entry and exit point is a continuous process, at present we have the the existing inter-state road and in the near future some more inter- state road may come up where entry and exit point is required to set up, and Meghalaya has a long international border with Bangladesh and inter-State border with Assam.
On the rule and regulation related to the Meghalaya Safety and Security Act, the Chief Minister said that the government notification will be issued before the Independence Day and on the Independence Day the Government will announce. This is a giantic task where all the local authorities has to be sanctities.
On the Prohibition Benami Transaction Act, the Chief Minister said that the rule for this act many take little bit times as the government has to consult many enforcing agency, but the government will come out with thre rules very soon may be after the Month of August.
The Chief Minister said that if few entry and exit point made operational it should be taken as, that the Comprehensive Mechanism is in place, after this then the construction of the railway line in the khasi hills region will resume, for the time being construction of railway line will be kept in abeyance.
