Air Vice Marshal Pawan Mohey takes over as new administrative head of EAC

Shillong, October 01: Air Vice Marshal PK Mohey, VSM took over as Senior Officer-in-charge Administration of Eastern Air Command today.   Prior to taking over his new assignment, he was the Air Officer Commanding, Air Force Station New Delhi.  He did his schooling at The Air Force School, Subroto Park, New Delhi and then joined the National Defence Academy.  He was commissioned in the IAF as a Helicopter Pilot on 06 December 1985.

He is a Qualified Flying Instructor and an Instrumental Rating Instructor  Examiner with vast flying experience.  He has around 6000 hrs of flying on various helicopters and Trainer aircraft comprising HPT-32, HJT-16, Cheetah and Mi-17.  He is a graduate of Defence Services Staff College, Wellington and has done Higher Defence Management Course at College of Defence Management, Secunderabad.  He has also been an instructor at the prestigious National Defence Academy, Pune.

During his service career, he has taken part in numerous operations and exercises naming a few Op Meghdoot, Op Bajrang, Op Rakshak, Op Safed Sagtar etc.  He was Flight Commander of 129 Helicopter Unit and Commanded 141 SSS Flight.  During his command, he recommenced Float Operations after a gap of 10 years.  He has also commanded Air Force Station Thoise and the Anti-Naxal Task Force.

His staff appointments include Director Financial Planning and Budget, Deputy Assistant Chief of Integrated Defence Staff  (Administration and Coordination) at HQ IDS and Principal Director (Intelligence) at Air Headquarters (Vayu Bhawan).  He has been awarded Vishist Seva Medal  and commended by Chief of Integrated Staff to COSC, HQ IDS, Air Officer Commanding-in-Chief, Eastern Air Command and Director General CRPF.He has been married to Mrs Anuradha Mohey and blessed with a son and a daughter.
