An increase of 1211 new Covid-19 cases and 31 deaths has been reported since yesterday

New Delhi, April 14: There is an increase of 1211 new Covid-19 cases and 31 deaths has been reported for COVID-19 since yesterday. As many as 1036 persons have been cured and discharged after recovery.

As of now, a total of 602 dedicated COVID-19 hospitals with 1,06,719 isolation beds and 12,024 ICU beds have been developed.

Prime Minister addressed the nation today about India’s fight against COVID-19. He announced extension of lockdown till 3rd May, and ease of certain restrictions in low risk areas from 20 April. The PM said that High Risk Areas and Hotspots will be under constant vigil.

He sought support for seven things including taking care of elderly and adhering to social distancing and lockdown. Prime Minister said India has benefitted from Lockdown. He said notwithstanding the economic travails being faced, it is clearly the correct path as it protected so many lives in the country.

Union Home Minister ShriAmit Shah has expressed heartfelt gratitude to the Prime Minister for the decision and said that the decision by the Prime Minister ShriNarendraModi to extend the lockdown, put in place to fight and end COVID-19, till 3rd May, has been taken to protect lives of the people of the country.
