Art and culture minister inaugurate 18 Degrees Festival, 2017 in the state Capital, Shillong

Shillong, October 16: The 18 Degrees Festival under the theme “Converge, Create, Experience and Coalesce” – a multifaceted festival of art, culture, music etc., under the aegis of Arts and Culture Department, Government of Meghalaya gets underway on 16th October, 2017 here at U Soso Tham Auditorium premises, Shillong. The inaugural function was graced by the Meghalaya Arts and  Culture Minister, Shri R. V. Lyngdoh as Chief Guest.

Addressing the gathering as Chief Guest, Shri R. V. Lyngdoh said that the Festival will be a platform for the youth to showcase their talents and share their experiences. Stating that arts and music brings unity and national integration, Shri Lyngdoh hoped that the festival will bring the youth of the State together on one platform and help them to further enhance their abilities and  skills.

Director, Arts & Culture, Smti M. W. Nongbri and author, Shri Mukul Deva also spoke at the inaugural function.

The six-day Festival which will be held till the 21st October, 2017 will feature various activities like Arts & Cultural programmes, Short Film Contest and Workshop, Cosplay, Photography workshop & exhibition, Literature Fest & Writing workshop with author Mukul Deva, Guitar Fest and Live Music, B-Boying and Popping Battle (Solo), Beatbox Battle, BMX and Skateboarding Show, Freestyle Motorcycling Show among others.
