AYWO write to CM to issued guideline to landlords not to ask for rent during this lockdown

Shillong, May 21: The AYWO from Garo Hills has written to the Chief Minister Mr Conrad K Sangma asking him to issued order to landlords not to ask for rent during this lockdown period.

In the letter sent to the Chief Minister the organisation from Garo Hills the AYWO and the people of Meghalaya as a whole would like to express and suggest some point for the interest of people of Meghalaya as a whole.

The Corona virus outbreak has put everything to a halt, be it shopkeeper, small entrepreneurs, students living in rented rooms so on and so forth. In this crisis financial condition of the people and professionals whose earnings are based on daily trade has been impacted badly.

It is becoming very tough for students and small business owners to pay their rent to the landlords in this zero-income earning situation.

The AYWO request the  Chief Minister to issue guideline to the landlords of Meghalaya to exempt from asking rent for the month of march till may or until the lockdown is abolished in the state of Meghalaya, said Mr Ajjusbel R Marak Social Welfare Secretary AYWO central body Tura.
