Shillong, March 09: The Garo National Liberation Army (GNLA) militant outfit of the Garo Hills today suffer another big blow to the organization, with the surrender of its foreign secretary Mr Briyan R Marak alias Millam 40 years to the police of South Garo Hills District.
Mr Briyan is a resident of Tura, Ringregittim , West Garo Hills District he surrender today before the South Garo Hills police without depositing any weapons, this was done in presence of Smti Shella N Marak IAS, the Deputy Commissioner of South Garo Hills District.The Superintendent of police of the District Mr Abraham T Sangma and in the presence of the Church members from the peace Forum and the NGO’s.
He joint’s the GNLA in 30th March 2011, and since then he is serving in the militant organization as foreign secretary. After two weeks of his jointing the organization, sent him to Bangladesh, and most of the time in his service in the militant outfit he was in Bangladesh.
His main job in the organization is to maintain contact with others militants organization for their materials and logistic support. He was arrested by the Bangladesh police in December 2012, for illegal entering into Bangladesh without proper Indian Passport and remained in jail for almost ten month.
