Big jolt to the Congress, Mr Diverland of Mawkyrwat former AICC member joint NPP

Mawkyrwat, August 29: The National People’s Party felicitated Shri Diverland Lyngdoh, former AICC Member, Ex-GS of MPCC and former President of the Meghalaya State Youth Congress on his joining the NPP at a meeting in Mawkyrwat.

The meeting also confirmed the appointment of the office bearers of the NPP Mawkyrwat Block Committee. Senior leaders of the NPP were also present such as James K Sangma MLA, Mr B.K Sangma General Secretary, Mr. J. S. Kurbah President, East Khasi Hills District, Mr. F. L. Mawlong General Secretary. During the felicitation, Mr Diverland Lyngdoh stated that he was very excited at having become a member of the NPP as he believes that the Party stands for the right reasons such as working for the people and the development of the state.

He expressed his gratitude to the leadership of the NPP for providing him with a platform from which he, as well as other party members of the NPP Mawkyrwat could bring about a realisation of the dreams and aspirations of the people of not only Mawkyrwat Constituency but also the entire District.

Mr James Sangma MLA welcomed and at the same time expressed confidence in the leadership of Shri Diverland Lyngdoh as Chief Organiser and the other members in organising the NPP. He  expressed happiness at the fact that the people of Mawkyrwat have, by joining the NPP in large numbers, expressed their faith in the young, dynamic and able leadership of Conrad Sangma, National President NPP.

He stated that the NPP had been given a big boost in Mawkyrwat by the joining of these prominent leaders. He also voiced his concern at how unfortunate it was that the true potential of the state had not been fully realised under Dr Mukul Sangma and that despite being a resource rich state, Meghalaya is still unable to optimally tap its potential and become a self sufficient state.
