BJP has two MLA in Meghalaya sharing cabinet berth will make party more discipline: Mr Sanbor

Shillong, Feb 09: Mr Sanbor Shullai BJP MLA from 19-Shillong South met Mr Ram Madhav national general secretary and discuss with him on the state affair in Meghalaya where the party is part of the collation in the Meghalaya Democratic Alliance (MDA) Goverment.

Mr Sanbor Shullai clarified on his colleague MLA Mr AL hek statement that that he is not aware of seat sharing plan, the BJP MLA stated that discussions regarding term of seat sharing have been discussed with central party leaders.

Mr Sanbor would prefer a mutual understanding and respect on this subject as there are just two MLA’s from BJP and sharing cabinet berth will make party more discipline and will create way for more leaders to join our party and to settle any matter amicably rather than creating an environment of mistrust and out of proportion differences.

The BJP MLa Mr Sanbor has a different view as compared to his party colleague Mr AL Hek and from the side of Mr Shullai backed the Chief Minister Conrad Sangma and he is very clear about his stance and says from day one they have been part of the Government and that being a part of it should look for solutions and make it an efficient Government.

Internal differences and blame game ideologies will only divert the attention and energy from the constructive policies and work undertaken by the present Government. Citing shortage of man power in police department is one of the big reasons to curb all illegal activities.

The BJP MLA also acknowledged the fact that Meghalaya is a developing state and various departments suffered from different irregularities and had long term pressing issues concerning them. He pointed out the need for all stake holders to take a positive step forward and identify loopholes and implement ideas for an efficient system of functioning.

This cannot be done overnight, he pointed but a collective effort in the right direction will help in a stronger and smoother state machinery, said Mr Shullai. This he says, should be the agenda of the Government and the people, pro-governance and pro-development.

As far as the issue of illegal coal mining and transport is concerned, Mr Shullai voices his opinion saying that the auction and handing over process by Coal India Limited should be completed at the earliest. He wants a long term solution that would benefit the people of the state on this issue as he says that the economy of the state and its people has taken a serious hit from its ban.

The BJP MLA stated that rather than playing blame game, Mr Shullai said “we in the Government as directed by supreme court should pressurized the chief minister to look into the auction process besides speeding up the formulation of mining policy and getting all the necessary clearances and approvals and resume mining and once and for all remove the illegal aspects associated with it”.
