BSF frontier HQ Meghalaya grabs Rajbhasa Shield

Shillong, July 01: Border Security Force has won the Rajbhasha shield for the year 2015-16 for the North Eastern Zones. In order to promote the national language in all Govt offices, various programmes have been initiated irrespective of the regional language by Govt. of India under national language development planning. With respect to linguistic and regional language, various states have been categorized under ‘A’ ‘B’ and ‘C’ Zones throughout the country.

North Eastern Region falls under category ‘C’. According to the Rajbhasa Karayanavyan,   the offices falling in this category are required to perform 55 % of total office correspondences in Hindi. All the Armed Police Forces and Central Govt. Offices including 118 institutes comes under this category. Accordingly during the year 2015-16 under the Nagar Rajbhasha Karayavan Samiti ‘Rajbhasha Sheild’ programme, the Border Security Force, Meghalaya Frontier has been adjudged the best office with the record performance of 76.58% in overall work .

This winner was decided during the meeting held by Directorate General Assam Rifles and President, Nagar Rajbhasha Karayavan Samiti at Shillong. The BSF Meghalaya Frontier was presented with the trophy and Commendation letter for the best performance in the office work in national language in the entire region. Shri P K Dubey, Inspector General, BSF Meghalaya Frontier complimented all the troops for their contribution and encouraged them to keep the same spirit in future.
