BSF organized Blood Donation camp in Shillong and Tura  on “kargil vijay diwas”

Shillong, July 23: A Blood donation camp in collaboration with NEIGRIHMS and Meghalaya AIDS Control Society was organized by BSF on 23rd July 2019 on the eve of “Kargil Vijay Diwas”.

The camp was inaugurated by Shri Kuldeep Saini, IG BSF  in the presence of Dr A C Bhardwajan, DIG(Med)/Medical Supdt, Composite Hospital BSF, Shillong, Mr Ajay Singh, Principal Staff Officer, Mr Subhash Chandra, DIG, SHQ BSF, Jowai  and other senior BSF officers.

The IG delivered a motivational speech to the volunteers gathered for blood donation and emphasized the importance of blood donation stating that one unit of blood donated by one individual can save life of four persons. So this is the best donation one can do and that is why blood donation is called  “Raqt Dan Mahadan”

At Tura Dobasipara BSF Camp another Blood donation camp in collaboration with Civil Hospital Tura(Meghalaya) also organized on the occasion of Kargil Vijay Diwas Celebration and the objective of the camp was to propagate the significance of blood donation in saving lives and to generate awareness about the need of blood . In blood donation camp 58 units blood were collected.

To lead from the front and give an example for others  Shri Kuldeep Saini, IG BSF himself donated blood on this occasion. Shri Kuldeep Saini stated that “ BSF is organising this event to commemorate ‘Kargil Vijay Diwas’ and to remember sacrifice of jawan during Kargil War”.

Altogether 70 serving personnel of BSF including the serving ladies staff of BSF donated blood with a zeal to save the lives of citizens. By doing so border men have exhibited that they are ready to save the civil citizens of India not only by guarding the border but also by donating the blood. Many such other programmes are being organized by BSF At various locations and BOPs and border, said Sh. U.K Nayal, DIG, PRO BSF FTR HQ Meghalaya.

As a part of “Kargil Vijay Diwas” celebrations, drawing and Paintings competition was conducted at BOP Dawki and Jaliakhola of 30 Bn BSF of Meghalaya Ftr in that 07 BSF personnel and 71 school children participated.

On this auspicious occasion, Coy Comdr of BOP Dawki and Jaliakhola delivered a valuable lecture and  briefed to participants regarding the importance of the ‘Kargil Vijay Diwas” and sacrifice made by Indian army and BSF troops for the nation.

Besides, Blood donation camp in collaboration with NEIGRIHMS and Meghalaya AIDS Control Society was organized by BSF on 23rd July 2019 on the eve of “Kargil Vijay Diwas” at FTR HQ BSF Meghalaya and BSF Camp Tura.
