Shillong, June 30: The Border Security Force (BSF) troops deployed at Nayabazar, East Khasi Hills district Meghalaya, saw some suspicious movement of a person entering from Bangladesh into India in the area of Nayabazar market on International border.

When BSF party on duty challenged him to stop he didn’t halt and ran back with full speed towards Bangladesh. While hot persuit BSF troops tried to nab the suspected smuggler a packet fell on ground which the smuggler tried to retrieve but he could not due to swift action by BSF troops.

The suspected person escaped to Bangladesh taking advantage of darkness and thick vegetation in the area. On searching the area, 02 Nos Gold biscuits weighing 100 gms each worth more than 6.5 lakhs were recovered from a plastic packet.
