BSF seizes 13 boats of the Bangladeshi who pick stones illegally in Jadukatta river

Shillong, August 31: The BSF troops once again showing alertness on Indo-Bangladesh border this times seized 13 Nos of wooden boats while some BD nationals were attempting to intrude into Indian territory to pick stones illegally through Jadukatta river of  South West Khasi Hills District.

As soon as the vigilant BSF troops deployed at Gumaghat in South West Khasi Hills Distt of Meghalaya noticed some suspected movements of Bangladeshi intruders near the border in Jadukatta river, they immediately rushed towards the spot to verify the activity.

The persons who were attempting to enter inside Indian on seeing BSF troops jumped and escaped backed to Bangladesh territory. The BSF troops seized 13 Nos wooden boats worth more than Rs. 05 lacs out of which one was engine fitted boat. BD miscreants some times attempt to pick stones from Indian territory which alert BSF troops foil every time.

Similarly, in another incident, the BSF troops deployed at Nayabazar, East Khasi Hills district of Meghalaya seized 29 cattle worth more than 5 Lacs while being smuggled to Bangladesh. The special operation party of BSF laid a trap while some smugglers along with cattle were proceeding towards Bangladesh through a thickly vegetated area.

The BSF troops rushed towards the suspected area before the smugglers could succeed in their nefarious activity, cordoned off the area and recovered a considerable numbers of cattle. All the seized items handed over to concern department for further legal action.
