Shillong, Jan 07: The Confederation of Hynniewtrep Social organization of Meghalaya, today stage a protest in front of the BJP office in Meghalaya in protest against the statement of the Prime Minister of India Mr Narendra Modi who said that the union government will ensure that the Citizenship (Amendment) Bill, 2016 will ensure that will be passes very soon.
The president of the HYC Mr Robertjune Kharjahrin speaking to media said that to show their protest on the recent statement of the prime minister statement, they are very sad to express with the Joint Parliamentary Committee (JPC) after coming to north east after hearing the sentiment of the people of North East but submits the report without any change.
The CHSO, also demand from the Chief Minister of Meghalaya that if the state government is opposing the Citizenship (Amendment) Bill, 2016 by passing the Cabinet Decision, but still keep Mr AL Hek as the minister in the government this is a clear indication that the government is playing double standard, organization demanded to drop BJP minister from the cabinet.
“We urged also all the BJP members in the state of Meghalaya that if they belong to the site of the indigenous people of North East, think about the social cultural and identity of Meghalaya should take the issued with the BJP central leader if they do not listen to them it pointless to remain in the party, they should step down step down from the BJP party or they will be tag as traitor of the Jaidbynriew”.
Mr Robertjune also said that they will fully support the agitation call by NESO tomorrow, and they congratulate all the NGOs and political party who opposed the Citizenship (Amendment) Bill 2016. Hope that this will sent the clear message to the central government that the people of North east is aginst the Citizenship (Amendment) Bill, 2016.
