Shillong, August 21: The Chief Minister Mr Conrad K Sangma today held the meeting with all the MLA of East Khasi Hills District to Discussed on the issue of COVID-19 in particular in East Khasi Hills District.
Speaking to media after the meeting which lasted one and half hours Mr Conrad Said that “We had the meeting today of all the MLAs from East Khasi Hills, including Shillong City and most of the MLA attending the meeting where we have positive meeting where we have discussed in detail all the aspect of the situation of this COVID-19”.
The Chief Minister thank to all the MLAs who have given positive suggestion and there are also issued that they have raised and we have taken not of all the issued and will be acting accordingly.
“At the same time also we have decided of putting up COVID Committees at the Constituency level and this committee will be headed by the MLA who will then coordinate with the rest of the COVID management committees which falls within their constituency”.
With this committee the Chief Minister Mr Conrad said that this will have proper coordination take place between different COVID coordination committees and the District Administration, the Block and the department concern.
This was the major decision that took place, this exercise will be conducted in different part of the state in other District also so we will be sending out others Cabinet Minister who will be visiting others district will take up the matters sharing the same concerns.
At the same time the Chief Minister have asked different committees different MLA also that in the long run we also need to look into the entire aspect the kind of impact that COVID will have in the state in that aspect we have look into the option on haw we could sensitise people to look at home quarantine where it was possible even in positive cases.
In the meeting they have also discussed and also to look into possibility of having Community Corona centre where it was possible in line with the community and the local leaders and obviously looking at the aspect enhancing the different corona centre and bed in the different district in the state.
The Chief Minister is of the opinion that this was also very important part that they have discussed that and also MLA also raised lot of issues and we have taken note of that and will take positive step.
