Shillong, March 12: The 58 Gorkha Training Centre under the aegis of 101 Area Shillong hosted the prestigious Eastern Command Inter Formation Boxing Championship from 05 to 10 Mar 2018. Total of fourteen teams of Eastern Command participated in the Championship.
In a keenly contested finals on 10 Mar 2018, boxers of 101 Area displayed their prowess in pugilism wherein they won most of their bouts in the finals, bagging eight Golds & two Silvers. The ‘Best Boxer’ was awarded to L/Hav Tilak Budhathoki, 101 Area and the ‘Best Looser’ was awarded to Hav Kuldeep, 17 Mountain Division.
In a befitting ceremony, Lt Gen DS Ahuja, AVSM, GOC 101 Area, felicitated the boxers in indl wt category and awarded the glittering Championship Trophy to 101 Area Boxing team amidst thunderous applause.
