Shillong Oct 10: Due to detection of positive COVID-19 cases/high risk contacts in the households of tenants of Smti Ridalang Pyrbot, tenants of Smti Virginia Dkhar and Mr Jarnar Khongsti at Lumjingsuk, Madanrting Block-A and Mrs Pinora Khongwir located at Madanrting Block – C.
The house of Shri P Kanti Das (tenant) in the compound of Smti S. Sengurta near St. John Primary School, Laban and Smti S. R. Banks, K.S.Road, Laban, in the house of Jhumella Shylla, Club I, Pynthorumkhrah and in the house of Rodha Wahlang at Jaiaw Langsning which requires contact tracing, testing and isolation to be effected in the interest of health of general public to prevent against any possible spread of COVID-19.
The District Magistrate, East Khasi Hills District in orders issued on 9th October, 2020 has declared the above mentioned houses as micro containment areas with effect from 9th October, 2020 so as to restrict unregulated entry and exit on the site.
The orders state that no persons are allowed to move into these containment areas and inhabitants within these containment areas shall not move out and shall strictly remain inside their homes.
The concerned Incident Commanders shall supervise and monitor strict compliance of the orders. Any violation of these orders will entail prosecution under the penal provision of Disaster Management Act, 2005 and IPC.
