Shillong, March 06: The Government Chief Whip Mr Winnerson D Sangma today move the motion of thanks to the Governor’s address, while moving the motion of thanks, he said that the governor has pointed out the programme and policies of the Government that was intended tobe carried by the government for the development of the state.
The leader of the opposition Dr Donkupar Roy move the amendment to the motion of thanks to the Governor’s address, that at the end of the motion it should be added, regarding measures to improved the safety and security of the women and children in thelight of rise in crimes against them.
The opposition want to include in the amendment to the motion of thank to the Governor address, regarding payment of dues to contractors of various departments for past four years, problem of unemployment, the State Youth Policy and the lifting of the ban on export of limestone.
While initiating the debate on the amendment to the motion of thanks to the governor address, the leader of the opposition Dr Donkupar Roy, while touching on the housing, the opposition leaders said that the government should do away with the tag “Chief Minister” in housing scheme and should be replay by the name of the state.
In the Housing sector it has been mention in the governor address that the new housing scheme called the Chief Minister’s Housing Assistance Programme by replacing the existing scheme. The Leaders of the opposition also question on the propose guideline to be headed by a non official.
He said earlier the government has entrusted the local MLA to identify the beneficiaries, even the local MLA fine it difficult in identifying, and how can this bee. The Leader of the opposition asked the government that the word Chief minister should be done away with and replace by the name of the state.
