Shillong, May 29: The MLA of 47-Tikrikilla Dr Azad Zamman inspected West Garo Hills District of the Plain belt area under Selsella, Demdema and Tikrikilla is known as bro and irri paddy growing area of Meghalaya.
This is peak season of harvesting Bro paddy, due to cyclone AMPHAN the plain belt of West Garo Hills have witnessed heavy rain and cyclonic storms and hailstorm from last one week .
The incessant and torrential rain has triggered flash flood in the area, from last two days and as the MLA from the area he has visited the flood hit area of his Constituency and paddy cultivation has been badly affected and many submerge under water in the areas and many roads were also washed away by flashed flood.
Dr Zamman thank the MP of 2-Tura Parliamentary Constituency Smti Agatha K Sangma and Mr Thomas Sangma advices to the Chief who has visited flood area and as the local MLA urged upon the state Government to provide necessary help to the farmers.
