Shillong, December 16: The Chief Minister Dr Mukul Sangma today meets the Prime Minister Mr Narendra Modi at the Airforce Landing Ground in Upper Shillong but he skips the official function held at the Indoor sport training center at Polo, when the Prime Minister inaugurated the Shillong-Nongstoin Tura Road.
The Prime Minister Mr Narendra Modi before he attend his party BJP Rally at Polo Ground he inaugurated the two lane road from Shillong-Nongstoin tura Road. In this official function the Governor of the state Mr Ganga Prasad, Tura MP Mr Conrad K Sangma two union ministers were present.
In the Inauguration tablet, the name of the Chief Minister Dr Mukul Sangma, the name of the PWD Minsiter Martin M Danggo, the MP from Shillong Mr Vincent H Palat and the Rjaya Sabha MP Smti Wansuk Syiem were also mention but none of them were present when the Prime minister inaugurated this mega project in Meghalaya.
Address at the party BJP Rally, the prime minister said that with the completion of this project at the cost of Rs.2300 cores the travel time from Shillong to Tura will reduce by eight hours. This Shillong Nongstoin Tura road has a distance of 261 KM.
