Shillong, Oct 04: Dr Mukul Sangma leader of the opposition in the Meghalaya Legislative Assembly who is also the former Chief Minister has written a letter to the Chief Minister Mr Conrad K Sangma, alleged that irregular transfer of police officer is due to political interference.

The letter written by the leader of the opposition stated that “I am writing this letter to bring to your notice that in the last few months, a number of haphazard and irregular transfers of police officers across different ranks and files have been affected. The former Chief Minister said that this whole action resorted to by the authorities due to political interference is in contravention of the provisions of the Meghalaya Police Act 2010, creating an unhealthy precedence which will have a serious bearing in the whole process of “Administration of Justice”.
