Shillong, Dec 22: The North Eastern Institute of Ayurveda & Homoeopathy (NEIAH), Shillong, an Autonomous Institute under the Ministry of AYUSH, Government of India, today observed the 4th Institute Establishment Day” at the Institute Campus, Mawdiangdiang, Shillong.
Dr. Pradyumna Goswami, Assistant Professor, GACH Convenor and Assistant Secretary, Assam Science Society, as the Invited Guests in his address to the gathering emphasized the need of strengthening collaborative natural products research in AYUSH Systems owing to the vast Biodiversity of Medicinal plants in North Eastern India.
The Institute Establishment Day was graced by Prof. (Dr.) Bhabesh Das, Principal of Government Ayurvedic College and Hospital, Guwahati, as a Chief Guest, Prof. (Dr.) Abhijit Chattopadhya, Head of Department, Dept. of Materia Medica, National Institute of Homoeopathy, Kolkata.
Prof. (Dr.) Abhijit Chattopadhya stressed about the importance of loving one’s own systems for excelling as a successful doctor and also highlighted the scope of AYUSH systems in Autoimmune Disorders.
Prof. (Dr.) Bhabesh Das in his address, mentioned about the rapid progress and development of the Institute at a National Level in a short span of time. He also discussed about the scope and limitations of various medical Systems and stressed about the Integrative Approach of treatments.
The occasion was inaugurated by the Lighting of Lamp and Mangalacharan followed by the Felicitation of the Guests.A Welcome Address was delivered by Prof. (Dr.) P. K. Goswami, Director, NEIAH, and he also summarized the Milestones that NEIAH have crossed.
NEIAH also organized the “4th Late Prof. (Dr.) S.P. Bhattacharjee Memorial Oration” who was the Founder Director of NEIAH, on the 21st December, 2019.
