Shillong Oct 18: The 1st Meghalaya State Kickboxing Championship cum 3rd Meghalaya State Selection Trial 2018 almost 40 participants were taking part across the state. The winner of the Kickboxers have been selected to take part at the upcoming WAKO Cadets Juniors and Seniors Kickboxing Championship 2018 to be held in Kolkata from 2nd – 5th December 2018.
The Chief Guest at the Closing Ceremony of the 3 days State Kickboxing Champion Mr Pyniaid Syiem, MDC, KHADC have given the assurance and commitment that the next 2nd Meghalaya State Kickboxing Championship and 4th Meghalaya State Kickboxing Selection Trial 2019 will be observing a new look in sports equipment in the Ring Sports of Kickboxing besides Tatami Sports in the interlocking mats.
It is indeed a blessing for all the State Kickboxers in the Ring Sports that in the coming Championship like this, State Kickboxers will be able to play in the Kickboxing Ring in the coming Championship besides Tatami Sports in the Interlocking Mats. Kickboxing have two categories of sporting events both in the ring and tatami safety mats. Meghalaya State Kickboxing Association (MSKA) and Muay Thai Association of Meghalaya (MTAM) have expressed it’s happiness and joy on the commitment and assurance given by Shri Pyniaid Syiem, MDC KHADC.
Out of 193 participants taking part in this three days State Kick Championship which was conducted under the supervision of 3 International Referees Pynsuklang Sumer, Miss Lambhadaka Patlong and Hame Shaniah Suiam both in the Ring and Tatami Sports, East Khasi Hills was adjudged the best team with 37 gold medals followed by West Khasi Hills (Mairang) as 1st Runner’s Up with 21 gold medals and 2nd Runner’s Up goes to West Jaintia Hills with 9 gold Medals. Ri-bhoi District managed to bag 7 gold medals with one each bagged by South West Khasi Hills and Garo Hills District. A lone fighter from East Jaintia Hills managed to get only 1 silver.
