For setting up Plasma Bank in the state Govt is in consultation with NEIGRIHMS: Prestone

Shillong, August 03: In the review meeting today Meghalaya State Government have discussed on the issue for setting up Plasma Bank in the state in consultation with NEIGRIHMS Hospital Shillong, this was  inform by the Deputy Chief Minister Mr Prestone Tynsong.

Talking to media person Deputy Chief Minister Mr Tynsong said that they have discussed for creation of Plasma Bank and the state government is actively examining in close consultation with NEIGRIHMS Hospital after the consultation the government will take the call.

Deputy Chief Minister explains that plasma bank is like a blood bank and NEIGRIHMS hospital is considering of having this plasma Bank. The difference is that in this case blood will be taken from thus patients who have recovered from COVID-19 and the blood will be given to thus who are critically ill COVID-19 patients.

The Government will have to take from all angles before taking any decision on this because the donors should willingly come to donate their blood after they were cured from COVID-19, if the Government buy the machines if there is no  donors what is the used that is why the government is in consultation with NEIGHRIHMS hospital.
