Shillong, July 05: The Congress-led opposition presidential candidate Smti Meira Kumar today started her presidential campaign to the North Eastern state from Meghalaya with the address to the MLAs of the Meghalaya Legislative Assembly at the Annex Hall mainly to the congress MLA and where the leader of the opposition Dr Donkupar Roy attended the campain.
The presidential Candidate of the combine opposition in her address to the MLAs of Meghalaya term this president election that fought on the bases of ideology, “it is the first time that the presidential election that has been turned into the battle of ideology I done think this has never done before”. She said.
Smti Kumar said “Why this need arose is the important question, the need has been resumed because that the atmosphere in the country has began to threaten the secular fabric of the country. It has challenge and it exceedingly putting in danger, communal harmony, social justice, inclusiveness, transparency and all that we have been standing for, all that, most of our country men hold dear all that is being challenge”.
Smti kumar went on to say “that is why I think and I belief that seventeen political parties, all thought they have differences or others issued but on this particular issued they all got together and unanimously decided to articulate their stand their principal stand and I am great full to them. I do not have word to congratulate that they have unanimously chosen me as their candidate and placed on my shoulder this trust that I should lead the ideological battle”.
“We live in a vast country, there is so many religions, there so many ethnic group, so many culture, there so many different ways of living and yet, that is the beauty of India that we are able to live in harmony, thus who are in possession of power their effort it should always be to promote this harmony and not to disrupt it”.
“Now that we see a definite proof an even atmospheres which is being created to communalizes in the name of what food one what should eat, in the name of what one should say, in the name of what how should live and conduct there are people like the leaders like to distance themselves, and I am pain to understand haw even their tremendous majority in parliament and given a tremendous hold on the government they are only talking and trying to distance themselves and no action is seen on the ground” claim Smti Kumar.
That is where, is the need for a battle on the bases on ideology. The opposition have made this contest of more on the bases on philosophy. The public is approving and endorsing the stand that we have taken and I have appeal to the members of collegiums to listen to their inner voice of conscience, she thinks the inner voice of conscience carries much more weight than numbers. She is happy to see that the leaders of the opposition is present today, the representative of the people are with them where we are going to scribe history.
