If Mr AL Hek minister in the Congress Govt resign and joint the BJP we welcome him: Shibun

SHILLONG, July 26: The state president of the BJP Mr Sibun Lyngdoh said that if  Mr AL Hek resign from the congress government  in the state and re-joint the BJP party they will welcome him. All thus MLA who has sent their filler to join the party  they should not put any pre condition.

The BJP is continuously strengthening the party in various districts with an aim to wipeout the Congress party from Meghalaya in the 2018 Assembly elections.

“We have formed different units in various districts and till date we have formed 49 Mandals (constituencies) and now we are moving towards the polling booth committees and our target is to complete all our party activities within September 2016 and all of this is the BJP’s objective to root out Congress from power in the 2018 assembly elections,” Shibun Lyngdoh state BJP president told newsmen here on Tuesday.

He added. “There are so many sitting legislators in Meghalaya who have already sent their fillers to join the party however until and unless we will not be able to give more information on this.”When asked if there is a possibility for the party to welcome back A. L Hek into the party, he said, “At present we are enrolling everyone and if Hek resign from his party and join us we will be happy if he can join us.”

He said the state BJP wants all legislator and non-legislators to join the party before 2017 in order to send the enrollment to the central office of the BJP within December 2016. “The enrolment target that we are keeping as an objective is that it should hit 8 lacks plus,” He said.

He said according to their grassroots workers the BJP is moving in a good direction and many people from rural areas of the state have accepted them. “We hope that in the coming elections the BJP being a national party will be the peoples alternative and we expect that the BJP will lead the government in Meghalaya in 2018,” he said. According to him, many high profile personalities from various districts have joined the BJP.

He informed that in the past few weeks the party has enrolled Ban Buhai Mawkdoh ex-president of RBYF from Mawhati along with 700 of his supporters. The party also expects that in the next few days S. Rehman Independent MDC from Rajabala to join the BJP along with 2000 of his supporters.“We wish to contest from all the 60 seats and lead the government in 2018 however if there is a need for alliance we will have to wait for the decision from central leaders of our party,” he said.
