Shillong, February 1: In connection with the General Elections, 2018 to the Meghalaya Legislative Assembly, the District Election Officer, West Garo Hills Tura has informed the general public that EVM and VVPAT awareness programme will resume from 2nd February 2018 at the Election Warehouse building, Tura located behind Deputy Commissioner’s Office from 11:00 AM to 3:00 PM.
The awareness programme is being held to acquaint the general voters with the machines and as part of confidence building measures in connection with ensuing General Elections, 2018 to the Meghalaya Legislative Assembly. All Polling Officers drafted under West Garo Hills District are requested to participate in the said programme.
Further, the Election Control Room and Complaint Monitoring Cell have also been set up at District Disaster Management Office Building, Tura in connection with the General Elections, 2018 to the Meghalaya Legislative Assembly. This Cell will be functioning 24×7 till the elections are over. This cell will register complaints and reports and the following telephone and mobile numbers 03651-222001 and 7640970498 have been installed for the said purpose.
