Indian Railway modified terms of ticket booking tickets for Special Trains from tomorrow

Maligaon, May 23: The Indian Railways is presently running fifteen pairs of Special Trains which started with effect from 12.05.2020. It has now been decided to revise certain terms and conditions of these 15 pairs of Special Trains for the convenience of the passengers, which are as under:

The Advance Reservation Period (ARP) of these trains will be increased from 7 days to 30 days. RAC and Waiting list tickets will be issued in these trains as per extant instructions applicable.

However waitlisted passengers will not be permitted to board these Special Trains as per existing instructions. There will be no Tatkal and  Premium Tatkal bookings on these trains.

The first chart of confirmed passengers against each train will be prepared at least 4 hours before scheduled departure and the second chart will be prepared at least 2 hours (unlike the earlier practice of 30 minutes) before scheduled departure. Current booking will be permitted between the time of first and second chart preparation.

Booking of tickets will also be permissible through computerized PRS counters at stations, Post Offices, Yatri Ticket Suvidha Kendra (YTSK) licensees, etc, as well as through on-line booking including authorized agents of Indian Railway Catering & Tourism Corporation (IRCTC) and Common Service Centres.

The above modification will be implemented with effect from train booking date 24th May 2020 and for the train starting date of 31st May 2020 onwards.

In NFR portion 2(two) pairs of Passenger Special Trains are presently running with limited stoppages. One is 02423 / 02424 Dibrugarh – New Delhi – Dibrugarh (Daily) and another is 02501/ 02502 Agartala – New Delhi – Agartala (Weekly) passenger special.

It may be mentioned here that, PRS counters have already started functioning at various locations throughout NFR depending on the requirement, feasibility, and local conditions since yesterday.

However, all the PRS counters are presently operating only in one shift from 08:00 hrs to 14:00 hrs for the issue of tickets. Passengers coming to PRS counters are also requested to pay preferably through cards/digital modes or tender exact amount in case the payment is made in cash.
