Shillong, June 02: The Meghalaya XXXIX NGOC, 2022 representatives comprising Mr John F Kharshiing, Working President of the Meghalaya State Olympic Association, Smt. Matsiewdor War Nongbri, IAS, Director and Joint Secretary, Sports and Youth Affairs, Govt of Meghalaya, Mr Chiranjib Choudhury, General Secretary, Meghalaya, State Olympic Association, submitted Meghalaya 39th NGOC 2022 hold the first presentation before the Executive Council, meeting of Indian Olympic Association, today in New Delhi.
The Executive Council, meeting of the Indian Olympic Association, (IOA) chaired by Dr. Narinder Dhruv Batra, President IOA, in presence of Shri. Rajeev Mehta, Secretary General, IOA, and other top officials was briefed as to the steps taken by the stakeholders in compliance of the timelines so as to effectively deliver the Meghalaya XXXIX National Games in 2022.
The Executive Council, meeting of IOA, also reviewed the presentations on preparations for the upcoming 36th Goa, 37th Chhatisgarh, 38th Uttarakhand National Games from the respective state officials.
The Executive Council, IOA, was impressed and in agreement with the progress and compliance to various issues as per the Host City Contract, (HCC) taken by the Government of Meghalaya, and the Meghalaya State Olympic Association, including the recent notification of the Meghalaya National Games Organising Committee 2022, (Meghalaya XXXIX NGOC 2022), and thanked the stakeholders for the continued commitment towards making the games a success.
One of the issues and concerns that were enquired by members of the IOA from the Meghalaya representatives besides infrastructure and hospitality was about airport connectivity and the need to have landing facilities for larger aircraft in Meghalaya. The EC, IOA, thanked the Smt. Matsiewdor War Nongbri, IAS, Director, Sports and Youth Affairs, the Govt of Meghalaya and Meghalaya State Olympic Association for the detailed presentation.
