KSU Tyrsad urged Meghalaya Health Minister to make Mawsadang Sub-Centre functional

Shillong, Oct 05: The Khasi Students’ Union Tyrsad Circle has written to the Meghalaya Health Minister Mr AL Hek demanding that State government should make Mawsadang Sub-Centre functional.

In the letter sent to the Health Minister the KSU said that they would like to draw his kind attention concerning the welfare of the people of Mawsadang area which time and again they had raised before the concern authorities but till date no solutions have been provided.

In the hope that as per the Goals of the “National Health Policy 2017” which envisages the attainment of the highest possible levels of Health and well being for all through easy access to good quality health care services, urged the minister to resolve this long pending issues for the benefit of the people especially women and children of this area.

The KSU urged the minister for early opening and functioning of Sub-Centre at Mawsadang. Government should appoint the required numbers of man power to serve the people in need of basic health care facilities.

The KSU Tyrsad Circle in the letter stated that, till date,there is only one sub-centre at Tyrsad Umkseh which make it impossible for this sub-centre to cater to all the people from different villages of the area.

That the jurisdiction of the new yet-to-function sub-centre will cover Seven Villages of Mawsadang,Pyndenumbri,Lawkhla Mawlong, Lawkhla,Laitniangtlong,Niamsang and Laitryngwai and some of these villages are still in the far flung area which is still not motor able.

In the interest of the people of Mawsadang and Adjoining Villages, the KSU  call upon the  Minister incharge health to speed up the opening of the pending sub-centre at Mawsadang and make it fully functional at the earliest without any further delay.
