Letter sent by Tura MP to Prime Minister is an insult to farmers of Selsella Block:Dr Azad

Shillong, May 30: Dr Azad Zaman the MLA from 47-Rajabala LA Constituency pointed out that the letter sent by Smti Agatha Sangma MP of 2-Tura parliamentary Constituency to the Prime Minister of India Mr Narendra Modi on the damage due to flashed flood due to Cyclone Amphan in areas Phulbari, Titkrikilla and Rangsamgre.

The MLA from Rajabala Assembly Constituency Dr Azad Zaman question the letter of the MP from Tura whey in the letter sent to the Prime Minister ignored Selsella Block which cover major area of Selsella and Rajabala Assembly Constituency wherein all the area of Bro and  Irri Paddy submerged under water.

Dr Zaman alleged that it is a direct insult to the farmers of Selsella and Rajabala Assembly Constituency. In the crisis of COVID-19 such types of discrimination is highly condemnable. The MP from 2-Tura Parliamentary Constituency have visited the flood hit area under Tikrikilla and Demdema C& RD Block.

The MLA from Rajabala said that he welcome it and highly appreciable that the MP has visited the area in this recent devastating flash flood which have affected more than 4000 heacters of land under Bro and Irri paddy cultivation under Selsella Constituency.

“ I have visited flood affected area of my Constituency and Selsella Constituency also. Crops ready for harvesting is been submerged under water. Plight of farmers have no end. I have seen the official communication letter of Hon’ble MP wherein she has nicely brought the matter of flash flood to the notice PM Modiji, once again it is appreciable”, said Dr Azad Zaman.

Dr Azad pointed out that, the letter sent to the Prime Minister on the recent flash in West Garo Hills District affect only Raksamgre, Tikrikilla and Phulbari area. The MP did not mention whey in her letter sent to the Prime Minister the damage under Selsella Block which covers major area of Selsella and Rajabala Assembly Constituency this is an insult to the farmers of the area alleged the MLA of Rajabala in the press statement issued to media Houses.
