Mahendraganj MLA Smti Dikkanchi distributed M-tabs to class XII students

Ampati, January 09: Mobile PC Tablets were distributed to 983 class XII students of 11 Higher Secondary Schools of South West Garo Hills district under the Chief Minister’s Students Digital Learning Aids scheme (CMSDLAS) 2017-2018 on 9 January at Ampati Multi Facility Centre near here. The Wi-Fi enabled PC tablets or m-tabs are pre-loaded with educational contents covering the MBOSE syllabi as well as study materials and sample question papers for Engineering and Medical entrance exams.

The M-Tabs were distributed by Mahendraganj MLA & Meghalaya State
Resource Mobilization & Employment Generation Council (MSRMEGC) Chairperson, Dikkanchi D Shira accompanied by South West Garo Hills Deputy Commissioner Cyril Darlong Diengdoh in the presence of EAC Dimse A Sangma and District School Education Officer C J Sangma.

Addressing the gathering Dikkanchi D. Shira said that the State government was carrying forward this scheme with a focus on improving the education scenario of State and empowering the students to be competitive in today’s globalized world. Today’s generation is about accessibility and one of the steps taken by the government is to make the students digitally aware through education and skill development programmes, she said, and urged upon the students to make best use of these gadgets and show that they are at par with the rest of the world.

Earlier, the Deputy Commissioner, Cyril Darlong Diengdoh, in his welcome address said that the scheme was a great opportunity for the students to empower themselves technologically and congratulated all the students on the occasion. The government believes in providing equal opportunities for every individual Diengdoh said and added that the M-Tabs should be utilized as windows of opportunities by every student.
