Manipur leading points table on Day 4 of Assam Rifles 26th Senior National Wushu C’ship

AR gamesShillong, October  13: Services Sports Control Board (SSCB) won 5 gold medals in the various taolu (form) events of the Assam Rifles 26th Senior National Wushu Championship here today, though Manipur, who picked up 3 gold, are in the lead in the points table.

Teams receive 5 points for a gold medal, 3 for silver and 1 for bronze. As of 5:00pm Manipur had 48 points to SSCB’s 39. Madhya Pradesh are third with 22 points.

Sajan Lama (nanquan, male), Anjul Nandeo (changquan and jianshu, male), Kh Bidyeshwari Chanu (taichiquan, female), Chirag Sharma (daoshu, male) were SSCB’s gold medal winners.

Manipur added to their gold medal tally through Ng A Toshibala (changquan, female), L Naokhomba Meithei (taichiquan, male) and Y Sapna Devi (jianshu, female). The other gold medals went to K Rita Devi (nangquan, female) of Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) and Sakshi Jatav (daoshu, female) of Madhya Pradesh.

The action continues at the Assam Rifles Sports Complex in Laitkor tomorrow, which is the penultimate day of the competition.

Points standings as today,Manipur – 48, Services Sports Control Board – 39, Madhya Pradesh – 22, Central Reserve Police Force – 8, Punjab – 7, Jharkhand – 6, Sashastra Seema Bal – 5, Maharashtra – 3, Odisha – 3, Assam – 2,Kerala – 1.
