States Govt requested railway authority to reduce stoppages of special train due to  COVID-19

Maligaon, June 04: A number of State Governments have requested the Railway authority to reduce the number of stoppages of the recently introduced special trains in their respective states in view of the COVID-19 pandemic situation.

Wherever Railways have agreed to the request and stoppages have been deleted and withdrawn the following procedures will be observed, E- Tickets: All tickets booked for the destination that have been deleted, will be automatically cancelled. IRCTC will refund fare for such tickets without deduction of cancellation charges.

Counter generated tickets:The PNR will be cancelled in the reservation system prior to preparation of the first reservation chart. Full refund fare for such tickets will be granted without deduction of cancellation charges on surrendering of the original ticket across any reservation counter within 30 days of the date of journey.

In case of counter tickets booked through digital transaction, refund of fare will be credited to the account from which transaction has been made.

All passengers whose tickets have been cancelled due to deletion of stoppages as per request of the respective State Governments will be informed through SMS. They will also be informed stating that they will be given full refund of fare.

Stoppages of 05955 / 05956 Brahmaputra Mails withdrawn at Bhojo, Bokajan, Diphu, Lanka, Hojai, Jamunamukh, Kampur, Digaru, Kamakhya, Sorbhog, Bijni, Bongaigaon, Fakiragram, Gossaigaon, Falakata, Dhupguri, Jalpaiguri Road and New Farraka stations.  Stoppages of 05645 / 05646 Guwahati – Lokmanyatilak Express withdrawn at Kamakhya and Dhupguri stations.
