Meghalaya BJP asked Mr Conrad Include poor families, who have  left out of  NFS Act, 2013

Shillong, August 01: Mr Ernest Mawrie, State President of the BJP, Meghalaya Pradesh, has written to Mr  Conrad Sangma, Chief Minister, and requested him to include the poor families, who have been left out of the purview of National Food Security Act, 2013 (NFSA) because of the inefficiencies of subsequent State Governments in the list of beneficiaries of Central Schemes during the Covid pandemic.

Mr Mawrie, in his letter, stated that instead of trying to pass the blame on the Central Government for keeping the non-ration card holders outside the extended PM Garib Kalyan Anna Yojna, the state government should accept that issuing Ration Cards is the responsibility of the state.

Instead of trying hiding our failures, BJP State President requested the CM to accept our own inadequacies and inefficiencies in including the poor and deserving people under NFSA, and to work urgently towards righting the wrong.
