Meghalaya Govt sanction five lakh each as ex-gratia who died in the firing at Mukroh village

Shillong,  Nov 22: Meghalaya Chief Minister Mr. Conrad K Sangma told the media that today an unfortunate incident occurred at MUkorh Village in West Jaintia Hills District where six person have die due to firing bus Assam Police and Assam forest guard.

The Chief Minister express hi deep condolences to the brief families who have lost their loves one, as per the report a truck caring timber was pursuit by the Assam forest guard with the Assam police and was detain by the Assam police and forest guard at Mukroh village in West Jaintia Hills District.

On seeing this people from Mukroh Village gather at large number and surrounded the Assam Police and the Assam Forest Guard this let to firing by Assam police in which five persons from Meghalaya died and one person from Assam Forest guard also died in the incident.

The Chief Minister inform the injured person were shifted to Baroto PHC, and Yalong Civil Hospital, on hearing the incident the superintendent of Police West Jaintia Hills District, the Deputy Commissioner and others magistrate rushed to the spot, inquest has been conducted by the magistrate.

The Home Minsiter of Meghalaya Mr. Lahkmen Rymbui reach the sport of the incident, the Meghalaya Police have register and FIR. The Chief Minister also reveal the name of the person who died in the firing are, Mr. Thal Sdadap 45 years, Mr. Nikasi Dhar  65 years, Mr. Sik Talang 55 years and one unknown forest guard of Assam.

The person who scum to injuries and die in the hospital are, Mr. Tal Nartiang 40 years who died at Baroto PHC, Mr. Chirup Sumer 40 years who die at Yalong Civil Hospital Jowai.

The State Government strong condemn the incident where the Assam Police and Assam Forest Guard enter Meghalaya and resulted to and provoked firing.

The Government of Meghalaya will take all step possible to ensure justice is done and action is taken against all thus who are responsible for this inhuman act, as mark of respect mourning for the deceased the government has to cancel all official festival including the Cherry Blossom Festival.

The Chief Minister today also announced ex-gratia of five lakh each   will be paid to the next of kin of the deceased shall be released the Cabinet will be meeting today to decide next course of action which the government of Meghalaya will take on this particular incident that took place.

At this point of time the Chief Minister appeal to all the citizens of the state to pray for the departed soul and specially from the family who have slot their love one, also appeal to the citizens of the state to maintain peace and harmony in the state.

The State Government is taking all step necessary to ensure law and order is maintain state, will also pray for all thus family who lost their love one and thus who are injured in this incident.

The Chief Minister   inform that the government has call various leaders right from the traditional head, Rangbah shnong, religious leaders from different groups, civil societies and NGOs to discussed, to appeal, to inform them and to asked them that we need to stand together in this difficult time as state and citizens.

The Chief Minister of Meghalaya Mr. Conrad said that they will be firm and take necessary action which is required that justice is done and thus people responsible for this action are taken against them.
