Meghalaya Health Minister Mr. Hek inaugurate of new services at RPC Hospital

Shillong, March 23: Meghalaya Health Minister, Shri A L Hek today inaugurated the new services at Reid Provincial Chest Hospital, Shillong. A short function to commemorate the 2 years of MHIS – PMJAY implementation in the hospital was also held on the day.

Shri A L Hek, during his address lauded the staff of the hospital for giving their best in their own capacity. He expressed happiness that 9 new services were implemented in the hospital and the revenue for procurement of these technologies was generated from MHIS without depending on the government for financial aid.

Shri Hek also laid emphasis on the efforts put in by the Doctors and staff of the hospital, for creating a positive environment for the patients which in turn will give renewed hope for them in continuing with their treatment. He also added that the hospital acted as a Corona Care Centre when the virus was rampant last year.

The services which were inaugurated during the day are High Dependency Unit (TB), High Dependency Unit (Non TB), Casualty Ward, State of the art X-ray Department, Renovated PMJAY Wards, CCTV Monitoring System, Hospital Management Software System, Bronchoscopy Center and Truenat Room.

Awards were also given to the staffs of the hospital for their dedicated services during the time of Covid 19. Others who spoke during the programme were Dr A Warr, DHS (MI), Dr J Lakiang, Medical Superintendent R.P. Chest Hospital and Dr B Thangkhiew, Additional MS R.P. Chest Hospital.
