Meghalaya TMC with its party MPs will hold a protest outside parliament in New Delhi tomorrow

Shillong, July 25: The MLAs of the Meghalaya Trinamool Congress (MTC) tomorrow will hold a protest outside Parliament in New Delhi concerning the issued in the state of Meghalaya, the protest will be held at Vijay Chowk, where MPs of the All India Trinamool Congress will participate in the protest.

With a sweeping number of 12 MLAs, the Meghalaya TMC is playing the role of an effective Opposition. Since the inception, Meghalaya Trinamool Congress has concentrated on growing into the primary force to defeat the proxy BJP-MDA Government.

It is needless to say that All India Trinamool Congress is the only reckoning force in the country to fight against the divisive politics of the BJP. On July 21, 2022, Trinamool Congress Chairperson, Mamata Banerjee declared, “We have the ability to fight.

The AITC have the spine to take on the BJP. BJP will be swept away from power at Centre by people’s mandate in 2024. It is certainly that the BJP will not get single-party majority, and once that happens, others will unite to form the next government. Break BJP’s prison, bring people’s government in 2024.

In Meghalaya, while the MDA government has turned a deaf ear to the woes of the people, Meghalaya Trinamool Congress has since proven to be the only credible alternative voice in the state which actively takes a stand against the misgovernance, alleged the TMC.

On June 29, 2022, All India Trinamool Congress National General Secretary, Abhishek Banerjee visited Shillong, initiating a unique membership drive across the state.

Following his visit, TMC Meghalaya is reaching to the remotest part of the state showing uninterrupted support and solidarity by forming block committees in various constituencies.

In the past few days, Meghalaya TMC leader, Dr. Mukul Sangma has held a significant number of meetings in Mowkaiaw, Jaintia Hills, Umlaper, Ri Bhoi, and all across the Garo Hills.

Recently, at a block level meeting in Umlaper, Ri Bhoi, Dr. Sangma commented on the MDA Government’s insensitive approach towards the implementation of CAA in the north-eastern states.

He said, “When all the North-eastern states unitedly opposed the CAA, all parties who are part of the MDA government supported the draconian CAA Bill instead. We also witnessed one of the NPP MPs speaking in favour of the NRC at the Parliament. Meghalaya won’t forget or forgive this.”

On the inter-state border dispute, Dr. Mukul Sangma said, the MDA Government should have treated this issue with due precariousness, the actions on their part have been draconian. Immediately after the 2018 elections, the BJP implemented the current MDA government in our state.

With regard to the areas of differences between Meghalaya and Assam, we had submitted a document in 2011 to claim back our rightful land. However, after the visit of the Union Home Minister, Amit Shah and Assam’s Chief Minister, Himanta Biswa Sarma, the puppet MDA government simply obeyed their diktats like an obedient servant. This entire false narrative in Meghalaya is scripted by the BJP.

Meghalaya has been witnessing the toils by SSA teachers, and daily wage earners in various other sectors as the MDA Government has failed to pay their salaries. Continuing with their unflinching solidarity, Meghalaya TMC MLA George Lyngdoh wrote to Cabinet Minister Dharmendra Pradhan.

In the letter, demanding intervention in the disbursement of pending salaries of SSA (Samagra Shiksha Abhiyan) teachers in Meghalaya. It is also to be noted that Abhishek Banerjee, the All India Trinamool Congress National General Secretary, met the protesting teachers on his way back from Shillong.

As the MDA Government continues with their aloofness and misgovernance, Meghalaya TMC would leave no stones unturned to fight alongside the people of the state. Unlike the MDA government, Meghalaya Trinamool Congress does not make hollow promises. Walking the talk, Meghalaya TMC will raise pertinent issues from the state in the Parliament ahead of the monsoon session.
