Meghalaya today signs Host City Contract for the 39th National Games 2022

Shillong, January 03: The signing of the Host City Contract for the 39th National Games 2022 was successfully signed today at  Yojana Bhavan Auditorium between the Indian Olympic Association represented by Shri Rajeev Mehta, Secretary General, Indian Olympic Association, the Government of Meghalaya represented by Shri  P.W. Ingty , Additional Secretary, Sports and Youth Affairs and the Meghalaya State Olympic Association represented by  Shri John F. Kharshiing, Working President, Meghalaya State Olympic Association and  Shri Chiranjib Choudhury, General Secretary, Meghalaya State Olympic Association.

A banker’s cheque amounting to Rs. 4.5 crores was also handed over to Rajeev Mehta, Secretary General, Indian Olympic Association.

Speaking at the event, Urban Affairs Minister, RV Lyngdoh urged upon all the stakeholders and the people of the state to work together with the Government of Meghalaya in making the 39th National Games 2022 a grand success.

Others present at the event were Smti Matsiewdor War Nongbri, Director Sports and Youth Affairs, Shri Pravin Bakshi, Secretary, Sports and Youth Affairs and other senior officials from various Departments.
