Shillong, April 05: The Members of the Alcoholics Anonymous Foundation Group, Shillong and Al – Anon – Seed of Hope Group, Shillong, in collaboration with the department of Value Education, St. Anthony’s College, Shillong, conducted an awareness programme for the students on the negative impact of alcohol.
Over 2500 students participated in the programme, held in batches, from 28th March to 3rd April 2019. Through sharing of life experiences, the speakers highlighted the reality that alcoholism is a disease which wrecks individuals, families and the society as a whole.
The participants were made aware of the fact that it is easy to get into the trap but requires a lot of courage, determination, hard work and perseverance to get out of it. Information was also given on where and how to get help, for individuals and families.
