Shillong, January 22: It was with great sadness that I learned the passing away of Rev Fr. Poonthuruthil James SDB. In this sorrowful time “ I would like to extend my heartfelt condolences to his near and dear ones and to the faithful and Leaders of the Catholic Church”.
Rev Fr. Poonthuruthil James, as Rector of Sacred Heart Theological College was highly respected and loved by one and all. His passing away will leave a void and the effects of his loss are being felt already by those who had the honor and pleasure of working with him.
In his condolence message Mr Conrad said that “We pray that God’s grace be with his near and dear ones at this time of darkness and grief. May God grant eternal rest unto him”. Said Mr Conrad K. Sangma MP Tura.
