Shillong, June 12: The Meghalaya Chief Minister in the public gathering held today at Ranikor has announced that the Government will fulfill the dream of the people of the Ranikor area by making his announcement that the Ranikor Administrative Unit will be upgraded to Ranikor Civil Sub Division.
In the gathering Sitting Congress MLA Martin Danggo submitted memorandum to Chief Minister Conrad K. Sangma to fulfil the demand of creation of Civil Sub-Division at Ranikor in South West Khasi Hills at a public meeting held at Ranikor on Tuesday.
During the meeting, the Congress block unit was dissolved by the President and General Secretary of the Block Congress unit. The Congress flag was put down by the Congress President and General Secretary, who resigned to join the National People’s Party and hoisted the National People’s Party flag before a large gathering.
In today meeting thousands of people who are numbers of Congress supporters and party workers have decided to join the National People’s Party. The dissolution of the Ranikor Block Congress Committee it indicate that the sitting MLA Mr Martin M Danggo will resign as an MLA so that he could contest in the by elelction from the NPP ticket.
The NPP leaders who were present in the public meeting today are the Deputy Chief Minister Prestone Tynsong, Home Minister James K. Sangma, C&RD Minister Snaiwbhalang Dhar, the Deputy Speaker of the Meghalaya Legisltive Assembly Mt TD Shira and others were also present.
