Mr Conrad reviewed the implementation of PMGSY, due to Covid there was delay in the works

Shillong, August 05: Meghalaya Chief Minister Conrad K. Sangma today reviewed the implementation of the PMGSY works in the State with officials of the PWD and the Deputy Commissioners.

The officials of the PWD informed that the implementation of the schemes across the State is under progress, however due to Covid situation, there was delay in the works from March end till May.

The Chief Minister has issued instruction to the department that construction be carried out in full swing and completed within stipulated time frame.

He expressed his confidence in the implementing agency – the PWD and told them to submit progress reports of the projects on a weekly basis to the government for effective monitoring of the scheme.

He also instructed the department and the DCs to monitor the implementation works at the micro level and ensure completion of works within the scheduled dates.

Out of 971 sanctioned schemes covering a total length of 4303.70 KM, 414 schemes covering a total length of 1353.12 KM have been completed while 528 schemes covering a total length of 2849.98 KM are in progress.

He also informed that the online monitoring mechanism in the Chief Minister’s Office is ready and the department should feed information, wherein details of the schemes, status of the works, names and contact number of officials and contractors etc should be made available for effective monitoring of the implementation.
