Mr Deepankar State Head GVK EMRI 108 Meghalaya received District Appreciation Award

Shillong August 17: Deepankar Choudhury State Head GVK EMRI 108 EMS Meghalaya received District Appreciation Award for exemplary service to community in providing quick and emphatic response to people in need of medical attention selflessly by GVK EMRI, from Honorable Chief Minister of Meghalaya Dr Mukul Sangma on the occasion of 71st Independence day celebration here in Shillong.

Accepting the award of reorganization State Head of GVK EMRI Meghalaya Operations thanked and  expressed his gratitude to the citizens of the state, Government of Meghalaya and other stake holders for their continued support to make the service successful and making 108 a reliable service to fall back to at times of emergency. Dedicating the award to all the entire 108 team he pledged to continue GVK EMRI ‘s mission in saving lives.

GVK EMRI is operating the EMS service in Meghalaya since February 2009 currently having a fleet size of 48 ambulances spread across 43 locations covering  all districts of Meghalaya. GVK EMRI 108 Meghalaya attended to more than 22 lacs calls handling more than 1.6 lacs emergencies till date, saving close to 19000 lives and conducting about 1625 deliveries by the paramedics. The top emergencies being pregnancy cases accounting for 28% of total cases followed by  Road traffic accidents and trauma cases  accounting for 14% of total cases.
