Shillong, Feb 12: Today an accused person namely Klan Marbaniang was awarded ten years Rigorous Imprisonment for the offence committed under section 6 of the POCSO Act 2012. The Order was passed by Shri Noor Ain Khan (MHJS), Hon’ble Special Judge (POCSO), East Khasi Hills, District, Shillong in connection with Madanriting P.S. Case No. 40(6)2014 u/s 3(a)/4/5(k) of the POCSO Act 2012.
Further, the Court of Special Judge (POCSO), East Khasi Hills, District, Shillong has also recommended compensation of Rs. 3,00,000/- (Rupees three lakhs) only to be paid to the victim by the State Government.
