Mr Saleng and Mr John Lesley attend The Nationalist Congress Party Convention at Tura

Shillong, October 22: The Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) held its Convention at the District Auditorium, Tura, where hundreds of people could not be accommodated and they had to return back due to continuous rainfall.

The convention started with a welcome speech by Mr. Vijay Raj, Vice-President, NCP Meghalaya State and he further stated that NCP would come to power on its own in the forth-coming assembly election of Meghalaya followed by presentation of Bouquet to the Special Invitees and also presentation traditional attire to them and the program was hosted by Mr. Torang R. Marak President Nationalist Youth Congress, Meghalaya State.

Special Invitees Mr. Saleng A Sangma, MLA and Mr. John Lesley K. Sangma, MLA spoke on the occasion and stated that the State is still reeling under financial crises, unemployment and also talked about other problems effecting the people of the State and stated that NCP was the only secular party who could make an impact and bring good governance to the State. Mr Saleng also stated that people knows what has been done by the Congress in Meghalaya and by the BJP at the Center both have failed to deliver.

Apart from the above the General Secretary NCP Meghalaya State, Mr. Disang M. Sangma former MLA gave a speech and the vote of thanks was given by Shri. Rightious N Sangma NCP Member Garo Hills Autonomous District Council. The program was indeed a great success even in the inclement weather. As many as 15 aspiring candidates were also present on the occasion.
