Shillong, September 24: The Nationalist Congress Party, Meghalaya State opened its West Khasi Hills District office in Nongstoin and the office was inaugurated by Mr Saleng A. Sangma and other office bearers of the State.
Mr Andrew C. Gare who has been appointed as the President of West Khasi Hills District chaired the meeting where people from almost all the Constituency had attended the meeting which was held prior to the inauguration of the office, Shri. Gare who was formally associated with UDP had joined NCP in the month of May 2017 with the entire office bearers of UDP including hundreds of supporters.
Others who were present and spoke on the occasion were Mr Vijay Raj, Vice-President, NCP Meghalaya State, Mr. S.P. Thapa, General Secretary, NCP Meghalaya State, Mr. Torang R. Marak, President Nationalist Youth Congress (NYC), Mr. Shyam Thapa, Vice-President NYC, Mr. Dak Kupar Nongrum, General Secretar, NYC and Mr. T.L Lapang, member NCP.
The welcome speech was given by Shri. Selecus Swangre, the Mawshyrut Block President, while Shri. Jona A. Sangma District General Secretary gave a brief report and the vote of thanks was given by Shri. Kaldinus Riangshiang, Mawshynrut Block Youth President.
Mr. Saleng A Sangma, MLA highlighted the future plan of the Party, he further stressed the need for change to bring all-around development in West Khasi Hills and also told the gathering to work for the Party and strengthen the same as he himself believed on the motto of the NCP and hence he will soon be joining NCP along-with other leaders.
